Distracted driving has become an increasingly dangerous and sometimes deadly problem across the country.  To increase public safety, the Cohoes Police Department is participating in the nationwide “U Drive. U Text. U Pay” Distracted Driving initiative October 8th – 12th.  Officers will be educating the public about the dangers of distracted driving, and will be increasing their enforcement efforts to get drivers to put down the phone while behind the wheel.

Keep in mind texting while driving is dangerous and illegal.  Break the cycle.  Remember: U Drive. U Text. U Pay

This community education and enforcement initiative is funded by the 2021 Police Traffic Services (PTS) Grant awarded to the Cohoes Police Department by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Commission.
