[ARCHIVED] Manslaughter/ Assault Arrests

The Cohoes Police Detectives, New York State Police Major Crimes Unit and New York State Police Forensic Investigations Unit have been investigating the suspicious death of a six week old infant of Van Vechten Street in Cohoes.  The infant’s identity is being withheld due to his age.  Upon speaking to the infant’s guardians, his father, Anthony Ojeda, made several admissions regarding incidents that occurred with the infant. 

Today the Cohoes Police Detectives announce the arrest of thirty-eight year old Anthony Ojeda of Van Vechten Street in Cohoes for manslaughter in the second degree for an incident that occurred on 12/03/2019 and assault in the second degree for a separate incident that occurred in early November 2019 involving the same infant.  He was booked and arraigned on the charges and remanded to Albany County Jail on $100,000.00 bail pending further court action.       

Leads are being followed up on by the Cohoes Police Detective Bureau and New York State Police Major Crimes Investigators and more charges may be pending.
