Phase II of the Sidewalk Replacement Project Construction Set to Begin

The City of Cohoes is starting Phase II of the Sidewalk Replacement Project on Remsen Street.  Construction will begin on Monday, April 15, 2019 with a projected finish date of Friday, July 12, 2019 (weather permitting).

Construction will begin at the northwest intersection of Remsen Street and Ontario Street working southward along the west side to Howard Street. Once the west side is completed, construction on the east side will begin northward to Ontario Street.

Phase II of the Sidewalk Replacement Project will include, new concrete sidewalks, resetting of salvaged brick pavers in a decorative border, new granite curbs with curbed bump outs, milling/paving, some minor utility work, signage, striping, street trees and plantings.

We want to assure residents and business owners that the construction of the new sidewalks WILL NOT hinder the access to your business/store fronts or homes at any time.  We are looking forward to the new sidewalks and the positive impact it will have for all businesses and homeowners on Remsen Street.

Any disturbance to roadway traffic that may result from the project will be clearly marked, updates will be provided on the City website as the project moves along.

Thank you for your understanding and patience during the construction period.
