The City of Cohoes Police Department announces the arrest of twenty three year old Thomas E. Slivienski Jr. on additional charges unrelated to the November 16th, 2018 murder of seventeen year old Johni Dunai, for which Slivienski is currently being held in Albany County Jail awaiting trial. Slivienski was produced in Cohoes City Court earlier today to be arraigned on charges of burglary in the second degree and grand larceny in the fourth degree (both felonies) for his role in a March 29th 2018 Grandview Avenue burglary. He was also arraigned on charges of reckless endangerment in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree (both felonies) for his role in the January 28th, 2018 shooting on Bedford Street.
Mayor Morse would like to extend his gratitude for the hard work and results produced on these and all cases handled by the Police Department and it’s Detective Bureau. He credits the department with making the City of Cohoes one of the safest communities in the Capital Region.
