Cohoes Announces Jingle Bell Rock the Block
-Free live musical performances featuring classical sounds of the holiday season-
Cohoes, NY (November 17, 2023) - The City of Cohoes in partnership with the Cohoes Local Development Corporation and Playhouse Stage Company has announced a holiday concert series in Canal Square Park. Running five weeks, Saturday afternoon visitors to the Spindle City will be treated to free holiday music in Canal Square Park. Jingle Bell Rock the
Block, as the series is being called, will start on Small Business Saturday during the annual Soup Stroll, and run every subsequent Saturday through December 23rd from 4pm-6pm.
“In my first year as Mayor I was proud to bring back a treasured experience from my childhood; lit garlands across Remsen Street” said Mayor Bill Keeler. “The addition of this holiday music in Canal Square Park will further enhance that experience.”
Visitors downtown will have the opportunity to listen to music, sip hot chocolate, and stroll historic Remsen Street with the nostalgic holiday lights and decorated storefront windows.
“We hope that concert goers will shop in our downtown stores and bakeries, take in the concert, and then stop at one of Cohoes’ many eateries on and off Remsen Street for dinner with friends and family” said Community and Economic Development Director Steve Napier.
The lineup of acts includes everything from Jazz to Bluegrass.
