Mayor Shawn Morse and the Common Council Members are proud to announce the Cohoes Proud Military Hometown Heroes Banner Program.
The banner program is a living tribute created for the community to recognize and honor Cohoes residents and their family members who are serving or are veterans who have served, our country in the United States Armed Forces. Each banner will be in honor of a specific Cohoes service person and will include their name, branch of service and photo (if provided). Banners will be displayed in the New Cohoes Veterans Memorial Park to celebrate and remind the community of their dedication to our country.
Twenty Two Banners will remain in place throughout the course of six (6) months. New banners will be added during a Veterans Day ceremony and Memorial Day ceremony. The banners after six (6) months will be presented to the families.
A banner sponsor cannot request a specific pole, placement of the banner will be determined by the City. Availability of banner placement is on a first come first serve basis.
Please complete the application form including the service person's name and branch of service (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard).
Proof of Cohoes Residency (e.g. Driver's license, utility bill, tax bill), proof of Military Service (e.g. Military ID or DD 214), and a High resolution photograph as a JPEG with 150dpi resolution (there must be NO other people in the photo).
Each banner costs $250.00, checks can be made payable to the Cohoes Local Development Corporation (CLDC) with Hometown Hero Program in the memo line.
