The A&E show was part of the Search and Rescue documentary series and recounted the 1999 South Pole rescue of Dr. Jerri Nielsen, a doctor who was stricken with cancer. This rescue mission was led by the 109th Airlift Wing. The "City of Cohoes" National Guard plane took part in transporting the documentary director and crew to Antarctica for the filming.
